SATURDAY DINNER

Dinner #1 on Friday was predicated on options. Dinner #2 tonight is anything but.

A reservation with the entire crew at a legit steakhouse is high on the list of must-haves at a bachelor party and Austin is home to more than a few. Run the ball here and don’t get too over your skis. The formula for everyone having a good time is as follows:

It’s an old bank vault at Perry’s. Book it if you’re feeling dangerous.

  1. Drinks at the bar before

  2. Bottles of red for the table. Caymus is Caymus for a reason.

  3. Seafood tower plus sides everyone will like. Asparagus shouldn’t be an automatic add.

  4. Steak that you’ll finish. I get you want to order the Tomahawk for the laughs but respect the meat.

  5. Espresso martini as a dessert.

  6. Tip well over 20% with a rowdy group on one check.

You know the usuals. Capital Grille, Eddie V’s, Ruth’s Chris, Bob’s, etc. All great options.

Go Perry’s if you’re looking for a *chain* boasting the best bacon-wrapped filet you’ve ever tasted.

If you’re looking for something unique to Austin, Jeffrey’s and ALC Steaks are both local icons.

Once you’ve polished that off, it’s important to not get too weighed down and have the steakhouse trip function as xanax personified. It’s why I mentioned the espresso martinis, but you could go black coffee, carajillo, etc after the meal to get back in the game.

After steak, you know the drill.
